Boxing Day Train Services – Monday 26th December 2011

There are only a limited number of train services operating on Boxing Day – we have provided details below:

LONDON UNDERGROUND – Aslef have announced their intention to strike on Boxing Day, so it is not currently known what level of service (if any) will be operating on London Underground on Boxing Day 2011

Arriva Train Wales – No service
c2c – No service
Chiltern Railways – No service
Cross Country – No service
East Coast – No service
East Midlands Trains – No service
Eurostar – Trains will start later in the day than normal, then a normal weekday service will operate
First Capital Connect – No service
First Great Western – No service
First Hull Trains – No service
First TransPennine Express – No service
Gatwick Express – A half hourly train service will operate, starting at 05:00 from London Victoria and 06:20 from Gatwick Airport. Last trains are at 22:00 from London Victoria and 22:50 from Gatwick Airport
Grand Central – No service
Heathrow Express – No service but a bus service will operate every 20 minutes between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport.
Heathrow Connect – No service but a frequent bus service provided by Heathrow Connect will operate between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport. Heathrow Connect fares will apply on this bus service.
Island Line – No service
London Midland – No service
London Overground – No service
Merseyrail – No service
National Express East Anglia – No service
Stansted Express – Service operates after 06:00 from Tottenham Hale to Stansted Airport only
Northern Rail – No service
ScotRail – The following train services will run between approximately 09:30 and 23:30:

- A special half-hourly service between Croy and Cumbernauld, calling at Lenzie, Bishopbriggs, Springburn, Stepps, Gartcosh and Greenfaulds.
- A half-hourly service between Milngavie and Springburn via Glasgow Queen Street.
- A Sunday service will operate between Helensburgh Central and Bathgate via Glasgow Queen Street.
- A Sunday service will operate between Balloch / Milngavie / Lanark / Larkhall / Motherwell via Glasgow Queen Street / Glasgow Central.
A Sunday service will operate between Glasgow Central and Kilmarnock.
- An hourly service will operate between Glasgow Central and Whifflet (until approximately 17:30).
- A Sunday service will operate between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride.
- A Sunday service will operate between Glasgow Central and Neilston / Newton / Cathcart.
- An hourly service will operate between Glasgow Central and Shotts (until approximately 18:00).

Because of engineering works, buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Wemyss Bay / Gourock / Ardrossan / Largs / Ayr / Girvan.

There are no other ScotRail services on Boxing Day.
South West Trains – No service
Southeastern – No service
Southern – The following train services will run on Boxing Day. There are no services running on any other routes:

London Victoria to Gatwick Airport / Brighton:
Departing at 45 minutes past each hour from London, between 08:45 and 20:45 – These trains will call at Clapham Junction, East Croydon, Gatwick Airport, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill.
Brighton / Gatwick Airport to London Victoria:
Departing at 42 minutes past each hour from Brighton, between 09:42 and 20:42. – These trains will call at Clapham Junction, East Croydon, Gatwick Airport, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill.

London Victoria to Sutton (Surrey) via Selhurst & West Croydon:
Departing at 43 and 13 minutes past each hour from London, between 08:43 and 20:13.
Sutton (Surrey) to London Victoria via West Croydon and Selhurst:
Departing at 53 and 23 minutes past each hour from Sutton, between 08:53 and 20:23.

London Victoria to East Croydon via Selhurst:
Departing at 58 and 28 minutes past each hour from London, between 08:58 and 20:28.
East Croydon to London Victoria via Selhurst:
Departing at 48 and 18 minutes past each hour from East Croydon, between 08:48 and 20:18.
Please note that because of engineering work, a bus service will also run between Balham and Selhurst / East Croydon via Crystal Palace, connecting with these trains to/from London Victoria.
Trains will not be calling at Three Bridges (trains were originally planned to call, but the station will now be closed on Boxing Day). A replacement bus service will run to/from Gatwick Airport to connect with the London Victoria-Brighton trains.

Virgin Trains – No service

    The rail and tube drivers are a real disgrace.
    You sign a contract to say you have to work unsocial hours just like doctors, nurses etc. If you do not like that you should really get another job.

    I am glad you get your day off at everyone elses expense. Merry Xmas an Happy New Year to you.
