Severe delays to services through Basingstoke following signal failure

A signalling problem is causing severe disruption at Basingstoke this morning, Saturday 22nd October.

There are delays of up to 60 minutes on all routes through the station, including South West Trains services from London Waterloo to Winchester, Southampton, Salisbury and Exeter; First Great Western services from Reading to Basingstoke and Cross Country Trains services from Bournemouth to the North of England.

A limited bus service is operating between Reading and Basingstoke calling at all stations

CrossCountry passengers may use London Midland and Virgin Trains services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston, First Great Western services between London Paddington and Reading and South West Trains between London Waterloo and Southampton.

South West Trains passengers may use CrossCountry services between Basingstoke and Reading and First Great Western services between Reading and London Paddington.
