The following alterations to train services are planned over the August Bank Holiday weekend

Arriva Trains Wales

Saturday 27 August
A normal Saturday service will operate, subject to engineering work

Saturday & Sunday

Warrington Bank Quay area
Buses will replace trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester

Sunday only

Trains will run between Cardiff Central and Radyr via Ninian Park. Buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Radyr via Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays and Llandaf.

Sunday & Monday
Birmingham New Street area
Arriva Trains Wales services will start from and terminate at Wolverhampton. Arriva Trains Wales customers should use alternative train services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street / Birmingham International

Engineering Work

Buses will replace c2c trains between Barking and Grays, and between Grays and Pitsea.

c2c train services between London Fenchurch Street and Southend via Ockendon will run between London Fenchurch Street and Grays. c2c customers for Southend should use alternative services via Laindon.

Chiltern Railways

Between London Marylebone and Haddenham & Thame Parkway

No trains will operate between London Marylebone and High Wycombe / Bicester North.

Customers travelling between London and Birmingham / Kidderminster should travel via Banbury, using CrossCountry services to/from Reading or Oxford and/or First Great Western services to/from London Paddington.

Buses will replace Chiltern Trains services between Bicester North and West Ruislip. These buses will also run to Hillingdon to connect with London Underground services to/from Central London.

A replacement bus service will operate between Banbury and Bicester North via Kings Sutton.

A replacement bus service will operate between Bicester North and Aylesbury Vale Parkway for connections to/from London Marylebone.

A replacement bus service will operate between Haddenham & Thame Parkway and Aylesbury for connections to/from London Marylebone.

A replacement bus service will operate between High Wycombe / Beaconsfield and Amersham for connections to/from London Marylebone.

A replacement bus service will operate between Saunderton / Gerrards Cross / Denham and Hillingdon to connect with London Underground services to/from Central London.

Customers for Princes Risborough should use alternative train services via Aylesbury.

Customers for South Ruislip, Northolt Park, Sudbury Hill Harrow, Sudbury & Harrow Road and Wembley Stadium should use London Underground or local bus services.

Customers for Seer Green and Jordans or Denham Golf Club should make alternative travel arrangements, or use the station help points for assistance.

Sunday and Monday

No Chiltern Trains service will operate between London Marylebone and Amersham. Customers should use London Underground services between Baker Street and Amersham.

Bus services will also operate between Amersham and Beaconsfield to connect with trains to/from London Marylebone.

CrossCountry

Buses will replace trains between Birmingham International, Coventry and Leamington Spa. CrossCountry customers should use alternative train services between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International.

East Coast

After 16:30, a reduced number of trains will operate between London Kings Cross and Leeds. Customers should travel via Doncaster for connections to/from Leeds.

East Midlands Trains

Trains towards London St Pancras International will not call at Bedford. A replacement bus service will be provided to / from Wellingborough to connect with trains.

Trains from London St Pancras will be calling at Bedford to pick-up only. Customers from London for Bedford should travel to Wellingborough for connecting bus services.

Sunday only

Until 14:30, buses will replace East Midlands trains between Luton Airport Parkway and London St Pancras International.

After 14:30, East Midlands trains will run to / from London St Pancras International, with journey times extended by up to 15 minutes. Please note that some East Midlands trains will start up to 10 minutes earlier than usual from London St Pancras International, so please arrive in good time for your journey.

Eurostar

First Capital Connect Customers should use London Buses or London Underground services across Central London (please note that there are no London Underground Northern Line services running at Kentish Town or Kings Cross / St Pancras – use Jubilee Line services between West Hampstead and London Bridge, or London Bus services).

After 23:50 on Saturday and throughout Sunday and Monday, buses will replace First Capital Connect trains between Bedford and Flitwick.

Between 15:30 and 19:50 on Sunday, some First Capital Connect trains will only operate between London St Pancras and Luton, with buses extended to run between Bedford and Luton.

Sunday only

Until 08:00, buses will replace First Capital Connect trains between Stevenage and Peterborough, and also between Stevenage and Letchworth Garden City
Until 08:15, First Capital Connect trains towards London Kings Cross will not call at Hornsey or Harringay. Customers should use Finsbury Park or Alexandra Palace stations.
Until 10:00, buses will replace First Capital Connect services between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Hertford North.
After 10:00, buses will replace trains between Alexandra Palace and Cuffley
Sutton to Streatham via Wimbledon trains will be diverted and will run non-stop between Streatham and Sutton (Surrey) through Hackbridge. There will be no First Capital Connect trains via Tooting / Wimbledon / Sutton Common.

The first trains of the day in each direction between Basingstoke and Reading (07:37 Reading – Basingstoke and 08:07 Basingstoke – Reading) will not run. Customers should travel on the next available service.

Until approximately 15:30, buses replace First Great Western trains between Worcester Shrub Hill and Great Malvern / Hereford.

First Hull Trains

On Sunday only, buses will replace some First TransPennine Express trains between York and Scarborough. Also, some trains between Manchester Piccadilly and York will only operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds – customers should use alternative train services between Leeds and York.

Saturday and Sunday

Between approximately 20:00 on Saturday and 09:45 on Sunday, buses will replace First TransPennine Express services between Bolton and Preston via Chorley. Some late night / early morning buses will be extended to run to and from Blackpool North

Gatwick Express

Between 09:00 and 13:00, buses replace London Midland trains between Watford Junction and Hemel Hempstead, and also between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton. London Midland trains will run between Hemel Hempstead and Milton Keynes Central.

After 13:00, a reduced London Midland train service will run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central, with buses replacing London Midland trains between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton.

London Midland trains between London Euston and Rugby / Crewe will operate, but will be diverted and will not call at Northampton or Long Buckby.

Buses will replace London Midland trains between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International, and between Rugby and Northampton. A train service will run between Birmingham International and Rugby.

Until 13:00, buses will replace London Midland trains between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey

Until 15:30, buses will replace London Midland trains between Worcester Shrub Hill and Great Malvern / Hereford.

London Midland services which normally start from / terminate at Worcester Foregate Street will be diverted to start from / terminate at Worcester Shrub Hill

Monday only

Buses replace London Midland trains between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International.

Until 13:00 on Sunday, a very limited Virgin Trains service will run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central.

After 13:00 on Sunday and throughout Monday, a reduced Virgin Trains service will run on all routes to and from London Euston.
